Yankees’ Jordan Montgomery to make his first start following Tommy John surgery
TORONTO – It’s been nearly 17 months since Jordan Montgomery walked off a big-league mound with elbow pain, leading to Tommy John surgery two months later.
“Feels like I was 5 years old when it happened,’’ Montgomery said of his last start, May 1, 2018 at Houston. “It was a long time ago.’’
On Sunday, the left-handed Montgomery is set to jump back into the Yankees rotation.
“Excited to get out there after I put in all the hard work to get back,’’ said Montgomery, scheduled to start Sunday’s series finale against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
